Kevin Runs a Marathon
Speaker: Kevin J. Foyle, MBA, CFRE, UTHealth Houston

Session Description
For any professional fundraiser, the notion of planning, launching, and completing a comprehensive fundraising campaign or even a targeted fundraising initiative can seem as daunting as setting a personal goal to run in a race. With more than 30 years of frontline fundraising experience including four campaigns ranging from $351M to $1B, Kevin will share key components of the campaign process to help you raise more money. You should leave better prepared and more positively framed to appreciate the total experience. It shouldn’t feel like just another assignment. Raising funds through a fundraising initiative or campaign should really be about the journey so that once you cross the finish line, both you and your organization will be stronger. As past chair of the AFP Global Board, Kevin will also provide foundational commentary on the landscape for giving and how best to strengthen our community of fundraisers so that all nonprofits benefit from the good work we are committed to achieving.

*For extra credit: Watch “Brittany Runs a Marathon” an American comedy film written and directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2019.

*This course has been approved for 1 point of CFRE credit.
