As a member of AFP – Greater Houston Chapter, you are eligible to receive educational scholarships and awards to assist in your professional development, to enhance your fundraising skills, and to serve your organization with increased commitment to our profession.
All stages of professional development are supported through the 2016 Awards & Scholarships. When you are reviewing the opportunities, the following key will help you understand the level of experience that is required to apply for specific awards:
N = New
professional, 0 – 4 years in the professional fundraising
Mid-level professional, 5 – 10 years in the professional fundraising
S = Seasoned
professional, 11+ years in the professional fundraising

ATE Conference in Houston and the AFP International Conference
Scholarships are awarded throughout the calendar year, unless otherwise noted. Friday, November 11, 2016 is the last day to apply for 2016. Funds will be awarded until the deadline is reached or until funds are depleted. You have a greater chance of receiving a scholarship by applying earlier in the year.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND (N, M, S opportunity)
The Professional Development Fund provides assistance for other fundraising and development opportunities that are not included in one of the existing scholarship categories.
Scholarships will be reviewed and awarded throughout the year with a maximum award of $500 per AFP-GHC member for calendar year 2016. Please submit the Scholarship & Awards application at least 4 weeks in advance of the event, training, conference, or activity.
Requirements to Apply:
· Member for at least one year
· Serve on at least one committee
Requirement after Award: Write and submit a report to the Scholarship Chair that may be used in AFP materials, website, or newsletter and include a photo of yourself.
