Apply for the 2018 AFP GHC

 

Youth in Philanthropy Award

 

If you or your organization have a passion for helping others and have created a unique volunteer program, you could be our winner!

 

Eligibility Requirements:

Any student or student organization in any public, independent or private high school located in the Greater Houston Area may be nominated for this award.

 

Guidelines for Submitting Nominations:

The nomination must include a signature from an authorized faculty sponsor and/or the non-profit organization that benefits from the organization's efforts.

 

All nominations must be submitted using the forms available on the AFP-GHC website. Nominators should accurately follow the instructions listed on the form.  When the form is complete, nominators will be asked to send in the form via email:

Association of Fundraising Professionals-Greater Houston Chapter

Attn: Mary Altemus, Chapter Administrator

Submit applications with a maximum of three supporting documents (flyers, letters, newspaper articles, photographs, etc.) One of which must be a photograph of the participants

 

Please include with your submission, a letter of recommendation from the supporting advisor or organization served.

 

Deadline:

The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 4th, 2018.

 

The selection committee for the award will consist of the AFP-GHC Board Committee for Diversity and Community Outreach.  AFP Houston Board of Directors and The Diversity and Community Outreach Committee manage the Youth in Philanthropy Award.  Applications are handled through the AFP-GHC office, which may be contacted for more information.  

 

Nominations will be judged solely on the responses to the criteria.  Incomplete nominations or nominations that do not address all of the criteria will not be considered.

 

There will be a first place prize along with two honorable mentions:

* First Place - $3,000

* Honorable Mention - $1,000

The award money will be split equally between school organization and charity.  In the event that an individual wins, the entire monetary award will go to the charity.

 

Winners will be notified by phone or email. The awards will be presented during the July 20th education session at the Junior League and will be acknowledged at the 2018 National Philanthropy day in November.
