A good relationship between fundraisers and accountants can be crucial to the success of a not-for-profit organization.  But fundraisers and accountants don’t speak the same language.  Learn how accountants “count” contributions, and hear an accountant’s perspective on practices that can support the efforts of both fundraisers and accountants, reduce confusion and tension, and improve communication of an organization’s story.

Mimi Holtis an audit partner with Blazek & Vetterling where she has spent the last 26 years working exclusively with not-for-profit organizations.  Her clients include religious organizations, schools, arts organizations, foundations, social service agencies, and other charitable organizations.  Mimi leads the firm's accounting and auditing standards technical resource group.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA, the Texas Society of CPA's, and the Houston Chapter of CPA's.
