Kate is a result’s oriented entrepreneurial fundraiser with 28 years of experience.  Proven at exceeding fundraising goals, she has administered effective policies and created positive work environments wherever her career has taken her.  Kate’s start in fundraising was at The Children’s Storefront School in Harlem, N.Y. The Storefront was a unique pre-k through 8th-grade private school for 150 students in the heart of New York City’s East Harlem.  Funds were raised from private donors annually, and it was here that Kate learned every aspect of fundraising from some of the best in the business.

Her journey continued at Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation in NYC’s mid-town, where she helped to manage a Broadway Tickets service bridging her lifelong knowledge and expertise on all things Broadway with her love of sales and fundraising.  This foundation funds some of the best and brightest cancer researchers in our country.

Kate and her family moved to Houston, where she was the Development Manager for Camp For All in Burton, TX. This incredible barrier-free facility serves chronically ill and disabled children and adults year-round.

After Camp For All, Kate returned to her arts roots working as the Director of Development at Houston Arts Alliance (HAA).  HAA is the City’s cultural arts council, where funds were raised from private sources to enhance the public monies donates by the City.  Kate’s work at HAA helped her fall in love with this artsy, funky, quirky, and diverse City that she and her family now consider home.

Currently, Kate is the Director of Development at Teen and Family Services and feels as if her career has come full circle from her early days of fundraising in Harlem.  The work that TAFS is doing to heal the students and families from substance abuse and other harmful behaviors in the urban core, rural areas, and North Houston is very dear to her heart.  She feels blessed every day to help TAFS grow their services year over year to heal even more families, no matter where they live in this vast City.
