Serjio is an avid nonprofit professional in the Greater Houston area. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston, with a focus in Nonprofit Management and earning his Certified Nonprofit Professional credentials with their Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program. He has been in the sector for over five years, working in variety of nonprofits, from local to national organizations in various capacities. Currently, Serjio is serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation where he creates awareness for the Foundation and their initiatives. The Foundation serves the Houston community to address the literacy crisis and to advance the literacy legacy of Mrs. Barbara Bush. Serjio is an active member with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of Greater Houston, serving on a few committees, and he also sits on the AFP Global Collegiate Support Committee. He is the current Treasurer for a local nonprofit, NORMAL TO BE FIT® Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to promote fitness among people with disabilities.

In his spare time, Serjio enjoys his time spending time with his family and reflecting in a good book. His favorite author is Mitch Albom and has read all of his book, though one he reads once a year, "Tuesdays with Morrie". Serjio joins the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in the Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies to gain a better understanding in philanthropy as he hopes to become a better fundraising professional.
