Jill Sanders Assir, MBA, CFRE

Jill Assir is a Development Director with the Houston Community College Foundation and is the Treasurer of AFP Greater Houston Chapter.

Jill began her career with Amigos de las Américas, where she managed community development and cultural exchange programs in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. In 2004, she joined the Amigos international headquarters in Houston, where she worked for ten years, wearing multiple hats related to alumni relations, annual fund, direct mail, event management, planned giving, and marketing/ communications.  From 2010-2014 she led the organization’s fundraising and communications team as the managing director of fund development. Her passion for youth development and the Houston community drew her to the YMCA of Greater Houston in 2015.  At the Y she worked as a major gift officer, raising major gifts for both annual and capital campaigns.  Jill joined Houston Community College Foundation in 2018, as the primary development staff member for HCC’s Northwest and Southeast Colleges. In her current role, she loves getting to work with community stakeholders to impact the lives of HCC students through scholarships and programs.

A native Houstonian, Jill received an MBA from Rice University and BA in International Studies and Spanish from Austin College. She has held the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification since 2016.  In addition to her service with AFP, she volunteers as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council and has been involved with Dress for Success Houston.  Jill is a runner and avid reader and lives in the Oak Forest area with her husband, Jason, and two young children.
