Josh Plumley joined the AFP-GHC chapter in 2008 looking to advance a career in development. He joined the AFP board in 2020 after serving in various roles on committees, as a professional mentor, blog contributor and special events volunteer. Now, after being a member for 12 years, he sees AFP’s greatest strength to be the collective experience and integrity of his AFP colleagues. 

As the Senior Director of Development, Josh leads Children At Heart Ministries (CAHM) development strategies and fundraising plans for Southeast Texas. In addition, he manages an executive portfolio made of up of individuals, foundations, businesses and community groups who are focused on bringing systemic change to their communities.

In his previous roles with other local and international nonprofits, he was responsible for increasing net revenue by pioneering and expanding multiple development programs and overseeing all capital projects.

Plumley is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and holds a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. These days you’ll also find him performing his other job duties as a P.E. teacher, janitor, hallway monitor and principal for his 2 elementary age children.
