Anne is one of the brightest minds in the field of capital campaign planning and management. With bold thinking and a hunger to stay at the forefront of her chosen field, Anne provides her clients with state-of-the-art best practices in every circumstance. Anne began her fundraising career at Stephens College, and then went on to New York to earn a Master’s in Fundraising Management. Upon graduation, she worked as a staff consultant for Girl Scouts USA and on the campaign staff for the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Centennial campaign. Eventually, Anne’s career led her back home to Houston, where she worked for the University of Houston Foundation, March of Dimes and University of Houston Downtown before coming to Dini Spheris.
Anne has also served in leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, including the local and national foundation board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, where the M. Anne Murphy Award for Outstanding Professional Advancement is given out each year in her honor at National Philanthropy Day®. In 2015, Anne received the Byron Welch Award for Lifetime Achievement from the AFP Greater Houston Chapter, the highest award given by the chapter to those in the fundraising profession.
No organization is too big or too small to benefit from Anne’s professional counsel. Working in a wide spectrum of client environments, from education to youth services to public-private partnerships, Anne is adept at addressing organizations that don’t fit the ordinary mold. Anne has proven herself to be a transformational coach to those involved in development planning and campaigning. From her volunteerism – Anne has spent over 30 years teaching fundraising courses in collaboration with Rice University – to her counseling practice, Anne remains a consummate industry leader.
